أكتب إليكم اليوم بصفتي مواطن يمني، وأنا أعبر عن معاناة شعبنا في اليمن بسبب المجاعة والفقر الشديدين اللذين تسببت بهما الحرب والحصار.
لقد تدهورت الأوضاع الإنسانية في بلادنا بشكل كبير، حيث يعاني ملايين الأشخاص من نقص حاد في الغذاء والماء والرعاية الصحية.

أود أن ألفت انتباهكم إلى أن الشعب اليمني يتعرض لتجويع ممنهج وإفقار منهجي، مما يؤدي إلى تفاقم الأوضاع الإنسانية وتدهور صحة الناس، خاصة الأطفال وكبار السن الذين يعانون بشدة من هذه الأوضاع.
نحن بحاجة ماسة إلى مساعدات إنسانية عاجلة لإنقاذ حياة الملايين من الناس الذين يعانون من الجوع والمرض.

كما أنني أود أن أذكركم بأن اليمن يخضع للوصاية الدولية بموجب الفصل *السابع* من ميثاق الأمم المتحدة، مما يضع مسؤولية كبيرة على عاتقكم لضمان حماية المدنيين وتقديم المساعدات الإنسانية اللازمة.
إن عدم التدخل العاجل لوقف هذه المعاناة الإنسانية يعد مسؤولية أخلاقية *وقانونية* كبيرة على الأمم المتحدة، خاصة وأن التجويع والافقار الممنهج يؤدي إلى وفاة الأطفال وكبار السن، مما يعد انتهاكًا لحقوق الإنسان الأساسية.

أيضًا، أطالبكم بالتزامكم المالي بتثبيت سعر صرف الدولار بما كان عليه في عام 2015، لما لهذا الإجراء من تأثير كبير على استقرار الاقتصاد اليمني وتخفيف المعاناة عن الشعب اليمني.
إن تدهور سعر الصرف أدى إلى ارتفاع كبير في أسعار السلع الأساسية، مما زاد من معاناة الناس.

أطلب منكم التدخل العاجل لوقف هذه المعاناة الإنسانية وتقديم المساعدات اللازمة لشعبنا، بما في ذلك توفير الغذاء والماء والرعاية الصحية الأساسية، وصرف رواتب الموظفين بشكل منتظم، وتثبيت سعر صرف الدولار.
نحن بحاجة إلى دعمكم لضمان وصول المساعدات الإنسانية إلى جميع المناطق المتضررة وتمكين الناس من الحصول على الخدمات الأساسية.

شكرًا لكم على اهتمامكم بهذا الموضوع الهام. أتطلع إلى استجابتكم العاجلة لإنقاذ شعبنا من هذه الكارثة الإنسانية.

*Humanitarian Appeal – Famine and Poverty in Yemen*

Mr. Secretary-General of the United Nations,*

I write to you today as a Yemeni citizen, expressing the suffering of our people in Yemen due to the severe famine and poverty caused by the war and blockade.

The humanitarian situation in our country has deteriorated dramatically, with millions of people suffering from severe shortages of food, water, and healthcare.

I would like to draw your attention to the fact that the Yemeni people are being subjected to systematic starvation and impoverishment, which is exacerbating the humanitarian situation and deteriorating the health of people, especially children and the elderly, who are severely affected by these conditions.

We are in dire need of urgent humanitarian assistance to save the lives of millions of people suffering from hunger and disease.

I would also like to remind you that Yemen is under international protection under Chapter VII of the UN Charter, which places a great responsibility on you to ensure the protection of civilians and the provision of necessary humanitarian assistance. Failure to intervene urgently to end this human suffering is a grave moral and legal responsibility on the part of the United Nations, especially since systematic starvation and impoverishment lead to the deaths of children and the elderly, a violation of basic human rights.

I also call on you to financially commit to stabilizing the dollar exchange rate at its 2015 level, as this measure will have a significant impact on the stability of the Yemeni economy and alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people.

The deterioration of the exchange rate has led to a significant increase in the prices of basic commodities, exacerbating people’s suffering.

I ask you to intervene urgently to end this humanitarian suffering and provide the necessary assistance to our people, including the provision of food, water, and basic healthcare, the regular payment of employee salaries, and the stabilization of the dollar exchange rate.

We need your support to ensure humanitarian access to all affected areas and enable people to access basic services.

Thank you for your attention to this important issue. I look forward to your urgent response to save our people from this humanitarian catastrophe.
